Casement Window Double Glazing and Repairs, Sevenoaks
This bay window of casements had rot riddled through all the lower parts. The plastic window companies tried to jump on this fact to insist that it needed fully replacing. Sadly, it was true that the 3 larger openers were beyond repair. When the rot spreads up the vertical sections of the casement sash then it becomes uneconomical to repair a sash or casement frame. But did this fact warrant ripping out the whole thing and throwing it away, including the beautiful stained glass above? Never!
We manufactured replacement openers, copying the current ones, but with one difference – they were double glazed. So not only did our client get to keep the windows, she got them upgraded from single glazed to being double glazed too!
With new shiny brass fittings, draught-proofing fitted around the casements, and a coat of paint applied to the frames externally, our client was left with a warmer room in winter and could keep enjoying her cup of tea while appreciating the morning sunshine rays gleaming through the pretty stained glass.
