Overhauling sash windows in Deal
It was a scorcher of a day in late July on Deal seafront. And what do you need on such a day? Fresh air. But these windows were not giving our client that – the sashes were completely stuck shut!
Such an issue is not as much of a problem as you might think. Yes, the paint sticking sash windows shut needs to be removed, but after this is done they just need a decent service, which we call a Sash Window Overhaul.
By taking the sash windows apart, renewing the sash cords (and sash weights if they need re-balancing) and re-assembling the windows again with any needed alterations, they can work as good as new. In fact, our sash window draught-proofing system can actually make them slide up and down better than they ever was!
Sash windows are designed so that the top and bottom sashes can open, allowing cool, fresh air to flow in through the bottom whilst the hotter air can escape through the top openings. And... breathe...
